Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology has been established by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. There are four centers of RGPIT in India, that is Amethi, Bangalore, Noida, and Sivasagar. Amethi is one of the oldest centers in all of them.
The location of RGIPT at Sivasagar in the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra valley for the center is considered appropriate because of the extensive oil field activity being carried out in the vicinity.

Eligibility Criteria for RGIPT Faculty Jobs
Educational Qualification:
For Technical Disciplines: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in relevant disciplines with first class in either of the two.
For Science and Humanities: Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree with first class or equivalent in a relevant subject and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 35 years as on 01 May 2020.
